‘Unlocking Potential’ 

Building on the success of previous conferences, the 2010 COBIS Teachers’ Conference in Madrid will explore the theme of making the most of the potential in all schools – the staff, the pupils, the parents, the teaching and learning environment, and the many opportunities offered by the changing curriculum.

Speakers confirmed include the following: 

  • Brian Moses, an acclaimed poet, who will explore literacy via poetry
  • David Forrester, a serving Headteacher in Bristol, looking at the power of story telling
  • Peter Gossage, an experienced inspector and educational consultant, “Getting the Best out of your Teaching Assistant”
  • Dr Rosemary Taylor, educational consultant, on “Leadership Matters”
  • Claire Thompson, former Headteacher and now an independent consultant, on Performance Management and Self Evaluation
  • Jacquie Hall, an experienced Headteacher, on “Deciding the Way Forward….for your children”
  • Sharon Curry, an experienced corporate and executive coach, on “Asking the Right Questions"
  • Michael Grose, Australia’s Nº 1 parenting educator, on “Working with Parents” and reflecting on customer care
  • Jeff Smith, Headteacher at Anson Primary School, London, looking at the power of technology in the learning environment and how it is used to inspire and motivate children
  • Speaker to be confirmed - Planning and giving excellent lessons

COBIS Delegate Fee = 350 euros (includes 2 days of conference sessions, lunches, Gala Dinner, and all conference material). Travel and accommodation costs not included.

Non-COBIS Delegate Fee = 450 euros (includes 2 days of conference sessions, lunches, Gala Dinner, and all conference material). Travel and accommodation costs not included.
