Nursery and Reception (Foundation Stage) children follow the Foundation Curriculum, based on the UK Early Learning Goals.

All children at the British School of Boston follow a curriculum based on the National Curriculum for England, the International Primary Curriculum (IPC) and the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme(IBDP). They follow programmes of study in English, Mathematics, Science, Design & Technology (DT), Information & Communication Technology (ICT), History, Geography, Modern Foreign Languages, Art & Design (DT), Music, Physical Education (PE) and Personal, Social & Health Education (PSHE). It is school policy to assess all children following entry to the school and to monitor their progress with a series of standardised assessment tests.
Aim of the School

In striving for excellence in education we aim to:

* Enable children to reach their full potential in all aspects of the school's curriculum
* Provide children with an education appropriate to the world in which they live
* Develop in children a love of learning and a desire to expand their knowledge and skills throughout their lives
* Foster an atmosphere of mutual respect wherein children learn to live together in a community and recognise others' strengths
* Encourage children to become responsible, independent people with a sense of moral responsibility and self-discipline

Mission Statement

The British School of Boston provides high quality education in a structured, positive and caring environment designed to meet the individual needs of pupils. The school community draws strength from both its British identity and its American home. It welcomes all nationalities, engenders respect for all cultures, and a sense of discipline is naturally achieved. The British School of Boston offers a challenging, broad curriculum based on the National Curriculum of England, and focuses on the development of the whole child, aiming to equip every pupil with the essential skills for lifelong learning.
Teachers

Our teachers are recruited from the UK or international schools worldwide and are of the highest calibre. Every teacher is experienced in the delivery of the National Curriculum (England). Our teachers have a variety of academic specialist skills, which are fully utilised in the school setting.

All our teachers at the British School of Boston take part in a continuous programme of In Service Training (INSET).

Teaching in the U.S. is an attractive prospect, not open to many British teachers, thus providing the British School of Boston with a unique opportunity to select from an extensive source of professional teachers. This has enabled the British School of Boston to be highly selective in offering teaching positions to the most experienced, highly qualified and committed of teachers.
